Tirano where I shot this ancient door and lock, is at the bottom of the Valtellina. It borders Switzerland and the apartment I stay in is just a ten minute walk from the border. A town full of history and attracts many tourists, espcially those who like the take the Bernina train to Switzerland through the mountains. Famous for good food and wine, a wonderful place to chill out. Especially after a week in Milano working. You get to see the Basilica of Madonna di Tirano, a historical holy building from the early 16th century. The ancient walls were built to defend the people by Ludwig Sforza at the end of the 15th century. A great place to see too, is the ruins of the imposing tower of the Castle of Santa Maria. For me one of the most unforgettable walks is late at night in the old town, ancient architecture and a feeling of serenity surrounds one as you walk in the stillness… He Held The Key Without knowing when Or how it happened, Realizing he held the key, He pulled open the bolt, Letting light into his world, And knew life would never Quite be the same again… ~ LCF Texture Blend Photography
