Glyn Warren Philpot (5 October 1884 – 16 December 1937) was an Englishartist, best known for his portraits of contemporary figures such as Siegfried Sassoon and Vladimir Rosing.

Philpot was born in Clapham London, but the family moved to Herne in Kent shortly afterwards. Although homosexual, Philpot was a practising Christian who converted to Roman Catholicism.

Philpot studied at the Lambeth School of Art (now known as City and Guilds of London Art School) in 1900. He was elected to the Royal Academy in 1923. Some of his later work was considered controversial in its time because of the explicit sexual imagery, and this led to a loss of popularity which caused him financial hardship.

Louise of Mecklenburg-Strelitz (1802). Jozef Maria Grassi (Austrian, 1758-1838).

Louise (1776–1810) was Queen consort of Prussia as the wife of King Frederick William III. The marriage produced nine children, including the future King Friedrich Wilhelm IV of Prussia and German Emperor Wilhelm I.

In 1805 she contacted the Tsar of Russia and the Emperor of Austria to sign a treaty with Prussia to form an alliance against Napoleon. In 1807, after disastrous losses, she met Napoleon to plead for favorable terms. Napoleon callously called her “the only real man in Prussia.”
